Strain’s Strain Reviews (Talk Cannabis):Not Just Covering the Culture — Building It
Let’s get one thing straight right out of the gate — Strain’s Strain Reviews (Talk Cannabis) on YouTube is not just a place where I review strains or talk about brands. That’s part of it, sure, but this channel has grown into something much bigger.
It’s a hub.
It’s a connector.
And in a lot of cases, it’s the reason people even knew about the party in the first place.
Most people think, “Oh, you show the event for the people who missed it.”
That’s true — but here’s the part a lot of folks don’t realize:
Half the time, the people who made it to the event only knew about it because of the YouTube channel, the Facebook group Talk Cannabis (Strain Reviews), or coverage through The Plug’s Pages Magazine at theplugspages.com.
⸻
From the Invite to the Aftermovie — We Do Both
We don’t just show you what happened after the fact.
We help spread the word before it even pops off.
Between:
• Strain’s Strain Reviews (Talk Cannabis) on YouTube
• The Facebook group Talk Cannabis (Strain Reviews) (same name, just flipped — yeah, we did that 😂)
• And The Plug’s Pages Magazine at theplugspages.com
…people are finding out about underground events, private functions, pop-ups, and weed parties that aren’t being blasted all over the front page of Facebook or Instagram.
Whether you were there, missed it, or only heard about it because we posted it — you’re still part of it.
⸻
Real Access. Real Conversations. Real People.
This platform goes behind the scenes with real figures in the cannabis world — not just mainstream names, but the people actually holding the culture together.
Yes, we’ve chopped it up with names like:
• Afroman
• Styles P
• My son, rapper Jake Strain
But just as important are the local legends — the builders, the organizers, the culture keepers.
People like:
• Damn Sam, event organizer and movement maker
• Robert Tambasco, a respected name in the community
These are the folks shaping the scene from the ground up, and they deserve to be seen.
⸻
Highlighting the Ones Doing It Right in the 518
I take pride in spotlighting people doing cannabis the right way, especially right here in the 518.
We sit down with:
• Danni Burns, owner of Hudson Valley Green
• Kiley Thompson, owner of Lazy Day Farm
And I’m proud to bring direct access to distributors who align with those values, like Kevin from Higher Beings, powered by Hudson Valley Green.
No pay-to-play.
Just respect and real recognition.
⸻
The Future Is Craft — and We’re Talking to the Craftsmen
Some of the most meaningful conversations on the channel happen with small craft growers — people with skill, passion, and vision.
Growers like:
John Gilboy, John Federighi, Tokalotapot Seeds, Canna Fae, Adam Hagadone, Paul Vidal, Paul Gottlieb, Stephen Waldron — and many more.
Many currently work with licensed farms but have dreams of building something of their own. I respect that deeply and will always support people using their God-given gifts to support their families while doing what they believe in.
⸻
Serious Culture… and Seriously Funny Content 🌿😂
Now here’s where things really start to open up.
As the channel grows, I’m planning funny collaborations with other cannabis content creators — both mainstream icons and newer creators who have absolutely blown up in our cannabis communities.
On the mainstream side, yeah — names like Cheech Marin are on the radar. Legends who helped shape cannabis comedy long before it was safe or popular to do so.
On the community side, I’m talking about creators who came out of nowhere and took over timelines overnight — people like OG Granny and Jesssaland.
Most of these collaborations are already being discussed or worked on behind the scenes. Jesssaland is the one conversation that hasn’t fully crossed the finish line yet — but I’m confident it will. Some things just take time, and that’s okay.
What matters is the direction.
⸻
Year Two Is About to Go Crazy 🚀
This is the second year of Strain’s Strain Reviews (Talk Cannabis), and I can tell you this with full confidence:
Year two is going to be a million times better than year one.
The corks have been worked out.
The learning curve is behind us.
Now it’s about doing what we do best — making dope content for the community.
Expect things to really start picking up around summertime. That’s when a lot of the bigger plans start rolling out. And trust me… some of them are so big, I can’t even talk about them yet.
Just know this — momentum is building.
⸻
Why I Don’t Chase Monetization
I’m not here chasing YouTube checks.
Because I don’t chase monetization, I don’t compromise. I can stay honest, call things how they are, and keep it real with the community.
That freedom is everything.
⸻
This Is Bigger Than Me
This platform doesn’t exist without you.
I’m one slice of the pie. You’re another. And when someone’s missing, the pie isn’t whole.
And yeah… I’m after that whole pie.
⸻
No Donations — Just Participation
I don’t ask for money.
I ask for support.
