God, Cannabis, and the Common Thread Nobody Wants to Talk About: Love

on

Let’s get one thing straight right out the gate—this isn’t about trying to force religion into cannabis, or cannabis into religion. This is about recognizing something that’s been right in front of us the whole time and calling it exactly what it is.

Love.

That’s the connection.
That’s the bridge.
That’s the common thread.

God is love. Pure love. Unconditional love. Even people who don’t believe in God understand that the core description of God—across cultures, faiths, and centuries—is love. And if you spend any real amount of time in the cannabis community, not just watching from the outside but actually being in it, you’ll notice something unmistakable.

God is already here.

There is an overwhelming amount of love inside this community. Real love. Not the fake, performative kind. I’m talking about people genuinely looking out for one another. People checking in. People sharing. People lifting each other up when life decides to kick them while they’re down.

I’ve seen it with my own eyes more times than I can count.

I’ve watched someone have a rough day—no money, no luck, heavy stress, just trying to survive—and someone else quietly break off a piece of bud and say, “You’re good. I got you.” No cameras. No clout. No expectations. Just compassion.

The joint gets passed not just to get high—but to get through something.

That’s love.

The cannabis community, at its core, is made up of people with genuine hearts.

And I will not—over my dead body—allow anyone to demonize this community simply because they don’t understand it.

Cannabis is a gift. A plant. Something that comes from the earth itself. And you can call it cannabis, weed, flower—but you could just as easily call it love. Because that’s what it produces when used with intention. Connection. Calm. Openness. Empathy. Reflection. Healing.

That doesn’t sound evil to me.

In fact, when used responsibly and traditionally, cannabis seems to quiet the noise. It softens the ego. It opens the heart. It makes people listen more—and judge less. For many, it deepens spirituality. The line of communication with God doesn’t get fuzzier… it gets clearer.

People who don’t understand this plant’s true nature—its history, its purpose, its cultural and medicinal roots—aren’t evil. They’re just uninformed. But ignorance becomes dangerous when it turns into judgment.

So here’s my challenge: instead of pointing fingers at your fellow cannabis user, do some damn research. Educate yourself. Because when you spread hate toward people using a plant to show love, comfort pain, and support one another… you might want to ask yourself a hard question.

Who’s really in the wrong?

The people using this plant to spread peace and compassion?
Or the ones casting judgment without understanding?

That’s something worth thinking about.

And if love truly comes from God—
then maybe God’s fingerprints are all over this plant after all.
