Following the Call: Passion, Purpose, and the Power of a Grateful Community

There’s a question I come back to often—one that feels especially relevant in an industry growing as fast, loud, and crowded as cannabis: Why do we have passion in the first place?

I believe the answer is simple, even if living it out isn’t. Passion is how God speaks to us. It’s that quiet (and sometimes not-so-quiet) nudge that says, this is what you’re meant to do. When you follow it—when you truly listen to your heart—and when you believe God is walking alongside you toward a shared purpose, something remarkable happens. Doors open. Pieces align. What once felt impossible begins to feel inevitable.

That belief is at the very foundation of The Plug’s Pages Magazine.

After years of professional experience working with established platforms in cannabis media, I reached a moment of clarity. The responsibilities I carried, the vision I helped execute, and the passion I poured into that work—it was time to apply all of that for myself, and more importantly, for a community I genuinely love.

No, The Plug’s Pages isn’t the biggest platform in the industry—yet. But I know in my spirit that choosing to build this magazine was the right decision. I believe in what we’re creating. I believe in our team. And I believe God brought the right people together at exactly the right time, because each of us is following our calling—not a paycheck.

Take OG Strain, for example. His story alone is enough to make you pause. What he’s built—starting from what most would call rock bottom—didn’t come from chasing money or clout. It came from following his passion with humility, faith, and consistency. Watching his journey, it’s impossible not to notice the abundance that flows when gratitude leads the way.

OG often says something that sticks with me: he gives thanks to God even before smoking cannabis. Grace before flower. And whether you see that as symbolic or literal, the results are hard to ignore. Since adopting that posture of gratitude, opportunities haven’t just knocked—they’ve piled up. Farms calling. Growers insisting he review their work. Not one or two, but dozens across the state. That’s abundance. That’s what happens when appreciation replaces entitlement.

I’ve seen the same truth reflected throughout our team.

Seymour Buds has been part of this journey long before the magazine had a name or a layout. He helped build The Plug’s Pages from the ground up, brick by brick, without fanfare. His commitment isn’t transactional—it’s relational. And that’s exactly the kind of foundation that lasts.

At The Plug’s Pages, we’ve never shied away from conversations others avoid. We’ve written openly about cannabis and spirituality. We’ve said plainly that cannabis itself is not a sin. Like anything else, it’s about intention, moderation, and purpose. Abuse can turn anything harmful. But when cannabis is used responsibly—medically, thoughtfully, and with gratitude—it can be a blessing. If it helps someone heal, focus, serve others, or simply live better, then it deserves an honest seat at the table.

What this community needs now isn’t more greed. It doesn’t need scammers, shortcuts, or people who see dollar signs before they see human beings.
